The 2019 McDonald’s Houston Children’s Festival is Coming Up

The McDonald’s Houston Children’s Festival has brought games, rides, entertainment, and circus acts to delight children in downtown Houston for more than 30 years. This year’s children’s festival runs March 30 and 31. Events take place in the area surrounding City Hall, Hermann Square, Houston Public Library Plaza, Sam Houston Park, and Tranquility Park.

But the country’s largest children’s festival is about more than just fun. It raises money for the thousands of Houston children suffering from abuse or neglect. To date, the McDonald’s Houston Children’s Festival has raised more than $5.6 million for Child Advocates, an organization that trains volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children.

Celebrities!

Every year, the festival invites celebrities who are popular with the younger set. This year, kids will thrill to meet Anthony Gonzalez, the actor who voices Miguel, the animated character in the moving and popular Disney film COCO. Gonzalez will attend both days of the festival, performing onstage and signing autographs. Children will have opportunities to take free photographs with Gonzalez.
Other 2019 celebrities include costumed characters like Princess Presto, Missing Link and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. McDonald’s standbys Birdie, Grimace, the Hamburglar and Ronald himself will also interact with the kids.
